  Volunteering With Mumbles Matters

Mumbles Matters is an online community magazine produced from our Dunns Lane headquarters in Mumbles, Swansea. As an online community magazine we provide the latest news and events from the Mumbles community and beyond alongside specialist features some of which are included within our Business, Environment, Education, Arts & Culture, Sport & Leisure and Lifestyle pages. We also provide vital public service information and act as a platform for the public to have 'their say' while we attempt to 'find the answers'.
Mumbles Matters is a not for profit Mumbles Development Trust project staffed and supported entirely by volunteers.

Legal Eagles celebrate the opening of their new Mumbles office with a sponsorship deal for Mumbles RFC

Senior Partner Peter Lynn commented,” We are delighted to be supporting community rugby here in Mumbles. The club has a long and proud history and hopefully our support will help sustain and develop the current squad. I’m a rugby man through and through and I know how important it is for clubs like Mumbles to secure the support of local business. I will be watching and supporting closely throughout the remainder of the season and I wish the boys and the coaches every success.

“As a business we are here to offer our clients and referrers of business in Swansea West the opportunity for easy access to top quality legal services at our new Mumbles office. “From a personal point of view I am especially looking forward to keeping in touch with professional colleagues and clients closer to home. I believe they can now call into any of our offices convenient to them and get the accurate legal advice they need to prevent legal problems.

“The new Mumbles office offers legal advice to individuals and businesses in all areas of law but we are aware of particular local needs in property work, wills and tax planning, matrimonial settlements on divorce and commercial and property disputes”.

Now into Week Eight in life as an online community magazine mumblesmatters.com, the Dunns Lane based Mumbles Development Trust project, has now hit the 3.500 Website visitors mark.

The magazine edited by Development Officer Joel Bennett, along with a thirty – four strong team of volunteers and contributors, last week enjoyed a record week with 295 Visitors attracted to the Website from the Mumbles and wider Swansea communities, nationally and internationally.

249 community new stories and over 100 community event advertisements have been published in this totally subscription free, online community magazine during the last seven weeks.

Recruitment and getting the Website content right have been the immediate priority which has been achieved with a volunteer base ranging from people ‘having a go’ for the first time to seasoned professional writers. The next stage will see mumblesmatters.com embark on a proactive marketing campaign up until Christmas with a view to further increasing its Website viewing rate and starting an academy for people interested in writing and photo journalism.

Mumbles Matters have also entered a media partnership with fellow Mumbles Development Trust project Oystermouth Radio, which is due to launch over the next few weeks.
